Syphons

High temperatures can affect an instruments performance. If you have a hot process application (60 Deg C and over), syphons are a good way to protect your instrument from heat.

Usually used on steam applications, where the "loop" is filled with water and acts as a barrier, preventing live steam from entering the bourdon tube of the gauge. Also syphons are used whenever condesing hot vapours are present.
